Screen your Domme

Many clients have come to me, disappointed and upset about other "Dommes" in the scene. I have heard the same complaints numerous types from many different clients over a number of years and I'm somewhat appalled. Their complaints were not so much about a lack of connection (we all have our off days) but a lack of professionalism both from a business woman perspective as well as from a Domme perspective. I would NEVER do some of the things I have heard happen, much less even think that an appropriate way to act.

This is all to be taken with a grain of salt, because of course there are exceptions to every rule:

1) Does she have a website? e-mail address? phone number? The more legitimate ways you have to contact her, the more likely she is legit.

2) How quickly does she get back to you?

2) Is she independent or with an agency? If she is with an agency, they are controlling her pictures and content and may be blatantly making it up. Doing out call? then they might just send someone else.

3) Does she have longevity? The longer she's been a professional the more likely she is experienced and knows what she's doing.

4) Where does she session? Well-equipped studio? Well-equipped toy bag? Ask specifics.

5) How does she respond to reasonable requests? If you ask politely, "Mistress, I love the look of leather. Could you please wear some for our session?" and her response is: "I'll wear whatever I want." I guarantee this is NOT going to be a good session.

6) Reviews? Unfortunately unlike escorts and restaurants, there are less places to review Dommes, but places like Maxfisch and other domme boards do exist. Others will place those reviews directly to their site.

7) Referrals? Is your favorite domme retiring/taking time off/moving? Ask her for a referral, she's the best source as someone who knows your needs and knows other Dommes in the scene.

8) How old are her photos? Are they the same ones you have seen for years? She probably doesn't look like that anymore.

If she doesn't look like her picture, if she doesn't have equipment needed for your session, if she treats you unprofessionally then do not make an appointment! I have NEVER heard a client tell me, "I showed up to her place where she sessions out of her garage, not a studio like she said. She didn't look like her picture. She was wearing jeans and a t-shirt, she didn't have any of the equipment I specifically asked for, but wow, we had a great time!"

But she replied without even mentioning the jokes. I really thought these jokes would make her mad and make her reply with some kind of angry attack on me. I decided to write an angry attack email on her behalf. I sent it to her and asked her if she could have written it herself. She just replied confirming the appointment time.

I was a little nervous about this second appointment. The email I ghost wrote for Ms. Justine was mean. It warned me that things would be very different the next time. I wondered if I had created a monster when I waked in the door. I think I did create a monster.

She dragged me by the collar through the hallway to the back of the building right away. She had me spend an agonizing amount of time folding my clothes neatly on a chair and then kicked the chair over and had me do it again because it was not good enough the first time. Then, after she was tired of me folding and refolding my clothes wrong, she decided to move on to punishing me for calling to confirm my appointment nine minutes late.

Punishing a grown man is way beyond any standards of propriety on the face of it. Then to consider nine minutes after six PM to be enough to qualify as lateness is wholly unreasonable. Also, I actually called her at eight minutes after six, not nine. She was making up the nine minutes part. She had me bend over a saw horse kind of thing so my ass was right in front of her. I didn't want to do this. But I was there for a dominatrix session so I needed to go with the flow in order to participate. I did this and she explained what she wanted me to do. Next she cuffed my hands to this wooden rack. So I was standing up on my feet with my hands held above my head. She did some pinching and then she told me to do something that is hard for me to write down. It was very humiliating. I told her I did not want to do it. But she said the consequences for not doing it would be much worse. She just finished hitting me very hard with her paddle and I didn't want any more of that. So I did it. It was very mean for her to make me do this. It was not necessary. She just wanted to prove that she could make me do anything she wanted.

After this, she walks over to her purse and comes back with a new toy she just acquired. It was a knife with a double edge, razor sharp. She came very close to me so I could not use my legs to kick her away. She grabbed my right thigh between her thighs and held it still. It looked like razor sharp stainless steel. She held the point to my neck right under my Adam's apple and looked at me. I asked her what she thought she was doing and she kept looking at me. I can't blame her for making assumptions about me living in Kansas. I made assumptions about her based on where she lived. At least she thought it had some value to her. I should be happy with that. Compliments from Ms. Justine must be very rare. I have a feeling that she doesn't like to compliment men just as a general principle. It is contrary to her view of the universe.

I left wondering how my ghost email affected Justine's approach to our second visit. Did it give her a blueprint for what I wanted her to do when we were together? Did it just give her permission to be herself and do what she wanted without trying to predict if it was something I would like? I prefer to think that she was just doing what she wanted during the second visit. I feel that her entertainment is more important than mine.

It is hard to imagine other guys liking this like I did. It was exciting when she was completely in charge of everything I did. Putting a knife to my throat really added to the excitement because she was showing me she had the power of life and death over me. It does not bother her to hurt people. Footnight @ Dungeon Servitu

It was my first time finally seeing the new space Dungeon Servitu. I liked the space and thought it was an appropriate location for Footnight.

The theme was elegance, so I wore a very short white satin backless dress. The view of Me going on the stairs was very distracting indeed.

127 Hours Premiere

Probably not something I would normally see unless I was still with my infamous rock climbing ex, but I still enjoyed the film., which is based on the true story of Aron Ralston, who got stuck in the desert for 127 hours because his hand is pinned by a boulder that fell on him. While I was a girl scout, I'm no regular adventurer, so here is my dominatrix reading of the film:

First of all, safety clown says its always a good idea to tell someone where you are going and have the proper supplies. Do I begin mummification with saran wrap before I have my safety scissors laid out? Fuck no. It's all fun and games until someone loses a hand or can't get out of the mummification before his lunch hour is up.

I was impressed with Aron's single handed rigging with rock climber rope and carabiners to attempt to lift the boulder, but as he quipped, I really need a different kind of rope, a couple of pulleys and eight burly men to do all the work. Amber Tamblyn, one of the few other people in the movie, couldn't believe that I was still wearing my patent leather sky high stilettos, towering over everyone. I told her I would die before I took them off. She had ditched her Louboutins earlier being in them since the afternoon. I only caught part of this episode of Bored to Death, because, ironically I had to escape TO the dungeon.

SCUM Manifesto ~ Book Review

Years ago my partner had given the SCUM Manifesto by Valerie Solanas to me as an important text of the feminist canon. I revisit it now with a Femme Domme reading, as I have believed for several years that Females are superior to men. It is so clearly and boldly outlined in this text. While there is much to discuss in this short controversial book, there are two main points I find pertinent to our discussion. First, that men are inferior to women and second that men know that they are inferior to women, but have managed to trick women into thinking themselves inferior.

Consider the following:

"The male is a biological accident: the Y (male) gene is an incomplete X (female) gene, that is, it has an incomplete set of chromosomes. In other words, the male is an incomplete female, a walking abortion, aborted at the gene stage. To be male is to be deficient, emotionally limited; maleness is a deficiency disease and males are emotional cripples."

"The female's individuality, which he is acutely aware of, but which he doesn't comprehend and isn't capable of relating to or grasping emotionally, frightens and upsets him and fills him with envy. So he denies it in her and proceeds to define everyone in terms of his or her function or use, assigning to himself, of course, the most important functions -- doctor, president, scientist -- therefore providing himself with an identity, if not individuality, and tries to convince himself and women (he's succeeded best at convincing women) that the female function is to bear and raise children and to relax, comfort and boost the ego if the male; that her function is such as to make her interchangeable with every other female."

Being the kinky intellectual I am, I wanted to check out the Erotik Museum whilst in Berlin. We walk into a sex shop akin to Hustler and are instructed to go upstairs to purchase tickets for the museum, which as we soon realize is what very few people are here to do. When upstairs, we realize there are video booths and pretty liberal rules about hooking up in them. Whip Smart ~ Book Review

When I first heard about Whip Smart by Melissa Febos, I must have had a crush on her about dozen different ways. First, she's a former Domme. Then she's published a book about her experiences. She runs a series in NYC. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence. She teaches writing classes at a college. Her website is actually pretty cool. Okay, and finally, she is smoking hot. To my credit, I crushed on this last since I didn't see a picture of her until AFTER I found out all these things. That being said, I was really looking forward to reading her book. It seems to have caused quite a flutter. I'm saddened to say that I was really disappointed.

I'm not sure how someone can take BDSM, NYC, heroin and hot bisexual women hooking up, and make a boring story, but in that Febos succeeds. This book really had more to do with her drug use and struggle to stay clean--we are not taking about recreational party drug use here, we are talking about doing speedballs and shooting up before sessions.

The story is cliche: white suburban middle class oddball goes to NYC to find other oddballs, realizes shit is expensive and becomes a sex worker since the high hourly wage will not effect other recreational, artistic activities. I was forcing myself to get through the majority of this book--partially because I didn't find it very interesting but also because of the heavy drug use. I agree with Mistress Matisse's quip that it could have been called Needle Sharp. Read her well-written review in the Stranger here.

Then I ask myself: What am I really expecting when I read these memoirs? NONE of them admit, Hey, I really liked doing this and I was good at it. I made money, then I stopped. Now I write.

And I'm not really sure what the writers are expecting when they write it, but it seems to be something along the line of, Hey, I did this for a couple of years, barely enough to make a drop in the bucket so no one in the scene actually remembers or knows who I am until maybe when they see my new book. I had bad experiences in the sex industry, mostly due to my own problems BEFORE entering it and many CAUSED while in it, but hey, here's my book. Now I'm a writer and an adjunct.

Maybe I'm just reading the wrong memoirs. Anyone have any suggestions? (I have been reading The Unauthorized Autobiography of Master R, which I find fantastic and will post review when I'm finished.)

The Notorious Bettie Page

This is has been on my list for a long time and I finally procured a copy. I was reluctant to see it, since I heard it was not very good, but being that Bettie Page is such an iconic cult object to a fetish/BDSM crowd, any movie would likely be sub par to such elitists.

I do not know much about her life, but rather enjoyed the movie. Gretchen Mol looks so damn good as Bettie Page, I'm not sure why she bothers with Gretchen. Disturbing to me was the gang rape sequence since I cannot find anything regarding if this actually happened.

It is striking to me that as a fetish model, so many of her photos are of her smiling. Even though much of her style has been endlessly copied, I still cannot think of many modern fetish models who smile in their photographs. I'm always smiling in photo shoots--I have a lovely smile and no one ever sees it. Photographers are always telling me to look stern and serious, but I'm having too much fun, especially if there is another Lady involved.

As for the movie, I love the way it was shot--mostly in black and white, then sometimes in color, but still keeping the same tones and saturation as if it was 50s color.

It's sad that she and other photographers were persecuted for harmless photography and even today, we kinksters are seen as deviants, surely I've met assholes, vanilla and kinky alike. Whatever her reasons, I'm glad she was able to take the photographs that made her such a legend.

The last time I saw this movie was years ago, before I became a pro-Domme. It blew my mind what a totally different perspective I have of these movie now.

I still like it, but not as much as I did. Much like the movie Blow had more to do with being working class and making a living than it had to do with coke, I feel like Secretary has more to do with a personal journey of recovery than it has to do with BDSM.

But what I really like about the movie always, is that it showed the difference between bad hurt and good hurt. Lee cuts herself to relieve the pain she feels of living with her alcoholic, abusive father and co-dependent mother. However, when she gets spanked by her boss, she goes to a different place to experience and process that pain, and ultimately the humiliation from her boss. And I like that it shows both characters struggling with how to deal with their love of a D/s relationship, deviating from "the norm."

To me, it's more funny than sexy, like when she tries to spank herself or when she tries to find another play partner--haven't we all been there? It's just not the same as being with someone who rocks.

Enjoy this mainstream movie that touches on D/s. I'm interested in reading the story by Mary Gaitskill that this is based on, I have recently discovered her writing and I find it dark and intelligent.

Arriving a bit early, I temporarily panicked when I saw people not of the Fetishworld exiting El Cid. Did I have the wrong venue? wrong date? Or were they just really uninspired for the evening? However, I was correct and hence the universe did not come to a screeching halt. The diners were leaving their evening and inquired about the event about to take place. I note that you do not do outcalls, so it would appear that I need to bring him to you. Do you have a facility that appears not to be a commercial BDSM setting? I don't want him to know that you are a professional. I want him to believe that you are a friend of mine with dominant tendencies.

I would also like to take advantage of your knowledge. This is not about hurting him – I could do that. It is about demeaning, degrading and humiliating him, and if possible, damaging or destroying his sexual identity and self image. Is there a way, other than keeping him in the chastity device, to make him unable to get it up with a woman, long term? At the very least, I want him to suffer shame and embarrassment and put him off sex as much as is possible. I want him to see himself as a sexual victim, rather than a predator.

Please let me know if you are interested and willing, and what suggestions you may have. Also, can you tell me what you would charge? If this proved to be effective, it might result in repeated use of your services.

I have several questions for Miss X, first of all, are you even real?

I can't decide if this movie is great or cheesy, but I'm not here to give you a feminist or intellectual reading of this movie. I'm here to tell you about the reason I saw this movie, which is why you should see it, the women! Featuring some of the sexiest and most beautiful women of this generation, and if you like the older dames, it has those too. Every scene is full of great bones, eyes, lips and legs. The movie drips with legs almost as good as mine, covered in fishnets and thigh highs, ending with stiletto shoes and over the knee black leather boots.

Even if I were to review this movie seriously, I'm not sure what else I would say about it, other than to bring me back to those dozens of legs.

I'm not much into perfumes. I never understood the appeal of Chanel No. 5; a woman's own personal scent is so much sexier. However, I have always loved the single note and somewhat odd colognes of Demeter Fragrance.

I couldn't help but notice that some of their fragrances had a bit of a BDSM feel to them, namely Leather, Riding Crop, Rubber, and Vinyl.

If I were to make a fragrance called Dungeon, it would have some of these elements: Leather, incense, sweat, pleasure, a scream, a little blood . . . my laughter. Would you wear it?

Book of Revelation movie review

It was a pretty mellow day for me, drinking fine wine and enjoying fine company. As per usual, I contributed to the feast with my excellent vegan desserts. This year I made pumpkin bread and apple pie that were quite well received. Amusing to me and my hosts was the fact I delivered said desserts in a Pleaser shoe box that once contained my over the knee buckled beauties.

We concluded the evening watching Blood Freak, a B-movie tradition for me about a man who eats tainted turkey which turned him into a, ahem, blood freak, or just a man wearing a paper mache turkey head. For the first time, I explored the other totally odd extras that included some noir skin flick shorts.
